Let me be honest with you, your bridal trial is one of my favourite appointments of the whole wedding journey. No pressure, no timeline, no one waiting on you. It's just us, good lighting, and a couple of hours to figure out exactly what makes you feel like the most confident, beautiful version of yourself.

But I know a lot of brides come in a little unsure of what to expect. So let me walk you through it.

First — what is a bridal trial, exactly?

A bridal trial is a full makeup appointment, usually done a few months before your wedding day. We sit down, talk through your vision, your dress, your venue, and the overall vibe you're going for — and then I get to work creating that look on you.

It's not a test run where we guess and hope for the best. It's a proper, intentional appointment where we fine-tune everything so that on your wedding morning, there are zero surprises.

What should you bring?

Bring any inspiration photos you've been saving — Pinterest, Instagram, magazines, whatever you've got. Don't stress if they're all a bit different. That's actually helpful, because it tells me what elements you're drawn to. Bring your veil or headpiece if you have it, and if you've got a swatch of your dress fabric, even better.

Come with a clean, moisturised face if you can. And honestly? Come with an open mind. Sometimes the look you think you want isn't quite what lights you up in person — and that's completely okay. That's what the trial is for.

What happens during the appointment?

We'll have a good chat first. I want to know how you normally wear your makeup, what you love, what you hate, and how you want to feel on the day. Polished? Natural? A little glam? All of the above?

Then I'll get started. I'll talk you through what I'm doing as I go, and I genuinely want your feedback. If something doesn't feel right, say so. This is your face and your wedding day — we're not done until you love what you see.

After the trial — wear it for the day

After your trial, I always recommend wearing your makeup for the rest of the day. Go about your normal life — run errands, go out for lunch, take some photos in natural light. See how it holds up, how it feels on your skin, and whether you still love it hours later.

If anything needs tweaking, we note it down and adjust on the wedding day. Simple as that.

Ready to book your trial?

I work with brides all across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, and I'd love to be part of your wedding morning. Head to the Bridal Enquiry page and let's get the conversation started.

Because you deserve to walk down that aisle feeling completely, unapologetically yourself — just elevated.
